Before Loading

Before loading begins, the product specifications and quantities should first be checked against the order and packing list. The truck or container should also be inspected carefully. Before loading, the container should be clean and dry, without standing water, oil, sharp metal edges, nails or other objects that could damage the geomembrane packaging. The floor and walls should also be in suitable condition.

The equipment should have sufficient capacity, and unnecessary impact, compression and dragging should be avoided during handling.

During Loading: Arrange the Rolls Properly and Use Space Efficiently

Efficient loading does not simply mean putting as many rolls as possible into the container. The loading plan should balance space utilization, cargo stability and product protection.

The rolls should be arranged systematically according to the loading plan, with unnecessary gaps minimized while avoiding excessive compression. When different product specifications are loaded together, their positions should be arranged according to their actual dimensions.

During handling, suitable lifting and moving methods should be used. The rolls should not simply be dragged across the ground. Special attention should also be paid to contact points between the rolls and the container. Sharp edges, protruding objects and other potential sources of packaging damage should be avoided.

During Loading: Prevent Movement, Impact and Contamination

After the rolls have been arranged, cargo stability should be carefully considered.

During transportation, trucks and containers may experience braking, turning and road vibration. If there are excessive gaps between rolls or insufficient securing measures, the cargo may move during transportation. Appropriate securing and protection measures should therefore be applied according to the actual situation.

The rolls should also be protected from contamination. Although HDPE geomembrane has good resistance to water and many chemicals, keeping the material clean during transportation is still important.

The loading area should be kept reasonably clean, and the geomembrane should not be exposed unnecessarily to soil, oil, chemicals or other contaminants.

For export shipments, transportation distances are often long, making packaging integrity and cargo stability even more important. A small packaging problem during loading can potentially become more serious during long-distance transportation.

After Loading: Carry Out a Complete Final Inspection

Once all geomembrane rolls have been loaded into the container, the loading process is not yet complete. A final inspection should be carried out before closing the container.

First, the number of rolls and product specifications should be checked again to ensure that there are no missing or incorrect products. The packaging condition and overall arrangement of the cargo should also be inspected.

The final inspection should confirm:

* The rolls are properly arranged and stable.

* There are no unnecessary large gaps.

* No roll is likely to move during transportation.

* No sharp object is in contact with the cargo.

* The container is free of unnecessary objects.

* Product labels and packing information are correct.

For export shipments, photos and videos can also be taken before the container is closed. These records may show the overall container condition, roll arrangement and final loading status.

Such records can be useful for factory shipment documentation and can also help customers understand how their cargo was loaded.

Container Closing and Shipment

After the final inspection confirms that all products and relevant documents are correct, the container can be closed and sealed.

For export shipments, shipping documents and related procedures should be completed according to the requirements of the logistics provider. The packing list, product information, quantities and other shipping documents should remain consistent.

After sealing, the container enters the transportation stage. From the factory to the port and then to the customer’s country, the cargo may experience multiple handling operations and long-distance transportation.
